January 8, 2016: FIDE announces that Agon has made operational an official broadcasting platform (worldchess.com) for the World Chess Championship cycle events (already present in October 2015).[6].

The Candidates Tournament 2016 was an eight-player double round-robin chess tournament, held in Moscow, Russia, from 11 to 30 March 2016. The winner, Sergey Karjakin, earned the right to challenge the defending world champion, Magnus Carlsen of Norway, in the World Chess Championship 2016.

The World Chess Championship will be held from 11 to 30 November and will consist of 12 games. As the main event within FIDE Championship cycle and one of the most important international sport contest it is going to be covered by many media all over the world.
